It is amazing what the human body is capable of achieving, Jeffrey Uzzell can sure testify to that.

His fitness journey sprang from one genuine conversation with a stranger. Since that day he was inspired to take the reigns of his own health, leading him on the road to transformation and newfound friendships.

 Let’s hear it from Jeffrey.

“ My name is Jeffrey Uzzell and I'm 47 year old rubbish truck driver. I have always struggled with my weight, even when I was younger playing Aussie Rules Football.

In 2015, I weighed 147kgs and was quite unhealthy.  Until 1 day at my local shopping center,  I saw a guy standing in front of a ‘Step into Life’ banner that day changed my life. After talking to Michael for 30 minutes about health, fitness and training, he convinced me to come and try and give it a go.

In the beginning training was tough, running, boxing and even power flex was tough. But with persistence and determination I kept coming back to training 4 times a week.

Now I have lost over 50kgs, am fitter stronger and a lot healthier. Even entered my first event 10km dolphin run in 1hour and 9 minutes.

Since I have completed 3 half marathons and broke 2 hours, my proudest event is city to bay 12km in 59 minutes.

My medal display is a constant reminder of achievement and stepping outside of my comfort zone and crossing that finish line.

Now, I get a real buzz running with friends every Sunday, training for events or social runs. So we can inspire each other or push to better times in the next event.

All it took was 1 conversation outside of Coles, that has changed my life plus my wife and friends who have joined on the health fitness journey.”
