We're always super stoked to see our Medal Displays in action so please keep tagging us in your photos - @medaldisplays on instagram!
Each month we choose our favourite photo to showcase as our 'Medals of The Month'.
This month's winner, Em Chiller, has been running since she was 15 years old as a way to clear her mind and boost her happiness. Since then, Em has gone on to achieve some amazing feats all while raising three kids!
On top of that, she's a qualified naturopath, personal trainer and fitness instructor and her business is @em_chiller. Em told us her passion is to educate and inspire people to nourish themselves with good real food, enjoy moving their bodies and fuel their minds with positive thoughts.
In her own words, here is what Em had to say about her journey so far.
"My love for running began when I was 15 years old. I lived in Ballarat and my first running goal was to be able to run around the Ballarat lake which is 6km. By the time I finished school at 18 most mornings I would wake up and run the lake 2-3 times. Running was my mental health time, it was my me time, it boosted my energy, cleared my head and helped me stay happy. And it’s continued to do that ever since.
Many years on and 3 kids later I now run more than ever! I am a lover of both road and trial running. Being out in nature, moving my body is my favourite thing to do. Running has allowed me to explore so many beautiful places.
In 2019 I used my passion for running and endless amounts of energy to help raise money and awareness for Bravehearts. I completed 7 marathons, in 7 states, in 7 days. That was definitely the most amazing and challenging experience physically, mentally and emotionally.
I’ve run many marathons and completed many trails runs and sometimes I even end up on the podium but I never run to win. I love running to enjoy the experience, the feeling, the challenge. I am only competitive with myself. Sometimes I just like to run and chat, other times I like to push myself and see what I can do.
Running also allows me to catch up with my dearest friends. Life is so busy and hectic sometimes the only time we can plan a catch up is crazy hours of the morning to get a run in together. How special is that.
Running has helped keep my mind strong. When you want something and work hard for it you can achieve anything. Believe in yourself and even on the hard days just keep going.
When I was 15 I dreamed to run 6km. Now I’m 36 and my dream is to run 100mile! I know I’ll do it and I’ll do it well. I look forward to hanging that medal up!!"
Our mission is to help celebrate wins and inspire many more, by hanging medals properly.
