This month we usher in the New Year with another inspiring story of a young athlete who shows the world, yet again, that nothing can stop you from reaching your goals if you simply put your heart in to it.
Here is Blake’s story shared by his mom Karen.
“As far as I can remember, Blake liked to run. As a toddler I didn’t dare take my eyes off him as he would disappear as soon as I turned my head.
As he was growing and his friends were riding bikes, Blake would be running beside them.
For many years Blake played AFL in the winter months and participated in Little Athletics in the summer.
At junior school he always made the representative teams in Athletics and Cross Country.
2 1/2 years ago Blake developed a passion for cross country running and regularly participates in Fun Runs.
Last year Blake decided to pick up a badminton racket and have a hit. Within 8 weeks he had won a trophy whilst representing his school.
Blake has suffered with asthma for most of his life and has never let his condition stop him from doing what he loves.
Blake has been an inspiration to his family, friends and classmates and we are incredibly proud of his achievements in just 12 years.”
