Nothing brightens up our day quite like being tagged in photos of your Medal Displays so please keep tagging @medaldisplays on instagram!

Each month we choose our favourite photo to showcase as our 'Medals of The Month'.

This month we were tagged in a post by the amazing Aaron Gan and we were blown away by the sheer amount of medals he has earned in a relatively short space of time!

Aaron told us it all started in 2016 when his two younger sisters asked him to take part in City2Surf. From that point on, he fell in love with the atmosphere and the "bling bling".

Aaron then said "From the 14km City2Surf I jumped into Half to Full Marathon straight away. My family and friends said I'm crazy!"

He's particularly passionate about charity events and proudly takes part in the Tower One Stair Challenge, MS Gong Ride, Run2Cure Neuroblastoma, Run Against Domestic Violence, Running for Premature Babies, Indigenous Marathon Foundation Events and many more.

Aaron went on to say "Since I'm already crazy and craving for more different types of bling bling finisher medals, in 2019 I wanted to push myself and see what my limit is. So I did Trail, Cycling events, Spartan, 50km ultra, my first first triathlon and Ironman." If that wasn't enough, he's also planning to have a go at 100 km and a 100 miler this year.

When Aaron's friends ask him why he runs he will jokingly say "because someone is chasing me" or "I'm chasing someone" but he also said he loves the beautiful medals and meeting new friends along the way.

During the pandemic, like a lot of us, Aaron got into virtual events in order to continue being "one of those crazy bling people" (his words, not ours!).

Aaron summed up by saying "To me it's about pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone, challenging yourself along the way and finding that next milestone to tick off or new PB to achieve. Plus it also makes you a little competitive.

You will never know until you try. Dream Believe Achieve. Anything Is Possible."

We couldn't agree more and we look forward to seeing what he gets up to in the future as we know he'll be inspiring many people along the way! Keep it up, Aaron!
