This month we are thrilled to shine our spotlight to a remarkable family - Katrina Tate and her two wonderful cherubs, Linken and Tilly. Their love for fitness and health has helped them to endure the tough times. We feel greatly honoured that they have shared their story with us.
Over to you Katrina.
“Thanks so much for choosing our display. We are really proud of it.
I’ve always been big into fitness, playing sport almost my whole life.
My kids and I started doing fun runs quite a while ago. Probably when they were around 4-5years old.
Their first fun run was more like a walk but they had a blast.
They’re now 9 and 11 and they are both into triathlon and running. They also play team sports to get a well rounded love and enjoyment of health and fitness.
They see me training and coaching triathlon, which adds to their enjoyment. I love being a good role model for my kids showing them the importance of keeping fit at all ages.
I recently completed my first half ironman and am looking forward to doing Cairns full in June next year. Linken runs for QLD in track and field and cross country. Tilly will compete this year for the first time.
Recently my husband and I separated and I think having the structure of training with our amazing club Bmee Multisport has helped them, and me, through what was a very tough time in our lives.
We are all now thriving and loving life. I always have people comment on our display of medals, and I think it’s the best piece of art in my whole house.”
Our mission is to help celebrate wins and inspire many more, by hanging medals properly.
